LOCAL BUSINESS CENSUS
We are looking for you!
Is your business located near JFK Airport, in southeast Queens, southwest Queens, the Rockaways, Elmont, Valley Stream or the Five Towns? Are you interested in contracting with the JFK Redevelopment Program? If so, please take part in the Program’s local business census so your business can be included in the Redevelopment Business Directory.
Mason Tillman, the firm that prepared the 2017 Port Authority disparity study, is conducting the census to identify local businesses operating in Design & Construction, Professional Services, Goods & Services, Concessions, Operations and Maintenance for the JFK Redevelopment Program. The survey asks questions about your business’s size and history. This information will help the Port Authority meet its objective of engaging as many local businesses as possible in the Redevelopment. It will ultimately lead to more jobs and dollars circulating in the local economy.
The JFK Redevelopment Program offers unique opportunities for local businesses. The Port Authority has established a 30% contracting goal for businesses that are owned by women and people of color, and a strong emphasis on businesses in the areas surrounding the airport. The contracting goals will help ensure that the communities most impacted by the construction of the new JFK benefit from the Program. These goals are a major part of the JFK Redevelopment Program’s expansive community engagement effort, which includes job training, mentorship opportunities, and the hiring of local residents.
Your participation is needed for the local business census. Please take a few moments to complete a quick survey. The information you share will be used for the reasons outlined above and will not be shared. If you have questions, please contact Mason Tillman by telephone at (718) 989-0026 or via email at [email protected].
